This hybrid class/workshop is designed to guide students through a new and exciting approach to the art of acting that favors the actors instinct & intuition, over traditional technique and analysis.  We get right to the source at the actors instinct and immediately immerse them in a real world environment.

Actors will be guided directly to verbalizing text out loud as quickly as possible and they will learn how to “stop acting” and start being the character using nothing but themselves by being personally responsive to the text. It’s the perfect “approach” for the beginner and a groundbreaking and possibly even controversial approach for the advanced or professional actor.

THE CURRICULUM:

~Actor warm-ups: drills to access any emotion immediately for use on stage
~Application of emotional tones
~Basic scenarios and improvisations
(*Working auditors may participate in this portion of this seminar)
~BREAK~
~Work on assigned scenes,
~audition exercises,
~possibly cold reads and monologues from noted plays and film scripts.
~Lab Actors/Participants receive a critique after first performance
~Work a second performance session where we will see, moment by moment – implementing notes- using this revolutionary, intuitive and freeing approach.
